PITHAI SMITHSUTH

Pithai, originally from Bangkok and adopted by a family in Los Angeles, discovered his passion for cinematography while filming skate videos with friends. After college, he embarked on a cinematography career in Thailand, working on commercials, documentaries, and feature films. Notably, he received the prestigious Thai National Cinematography awards for In Family We Trust (2018) and Inhuman Kiss (2020).

To further grow his technical skills, Pithai collaborated as a camera operator and a gaffer alongside esteemed cinematographers Newton Thomas Sigel ("Da 5 Bloods"), Greig Fraser ("The Creator"), and Rodrigo Prieto ("Killers of the Flower Moon”).

Continuously seeking collaborators, he is particularly drawn to narratives that may seem ordinary to others but hold profound significance for the protagonist.
